Starting my career in Automotive

My future career is super important to me. I want to have a job in something i love to do, and as of right now I’m starting to do something I like which is auto mechanics. Im at the bottom of auto mechanics, so as of right now i’m just working at discount tire but, I don’t have a problem with it because it’s a start in what I want to do and i think i’m going to enjoy it. I start this weekend at discount tire and i know for a fact i will learn a lot working there, so i’m excited for that.

Discount Tire will probably help me in my future whether I decide to stay there or go work at an actual workshop where I work on engines, tires, oil changes etc., but I don’t know what my plan is so far i’m just going to work on tires for right now and maybe they will take me somewhere in my future and that is what I am hoping for honestly is for it to start my future career. Working at discount will help me learn about the tire part about cars but, having this job may eventually help me later on with another automotive job. So far I know that discount tire is successful and it is a wonderful start.

My skills and knowledge will improve from this start and if one day I decide to go work at a different shop I will have some sort of skill and knowledge already and it could help me for a different job. my training will actually be here in a couple of days and they have me do a little online but then most of it is hands on and i like hands on training the most because I can learn faster and my progress will be a lot more efficient. I don’t really have anything else to say about about my future career, all I know is that I am going to definitely do the one thing I love and that is working on cars and I have a pretty good start so far and I think it will take me somewhere.

Half The Sky

The film Half The Sky introduces the idea that The Worldwide Oppression of Women could be the dominant civil rights issue of our time. The film shares stories of women in different countries who are trying to change cultural ideas that extremely oppressive to women. Some of these issues include: Gender-Based Violence, Education, and Sex Trafficking.

Gender-based violence

Women 15 to 45 are maimed or they die. There are different kinds of violence that men can do. 135 women and girls have had genital mutilation. The murder by male partners is 70%. Today 603 million women live in countries where domestic violence is not outlawed and more than 2.6billion live in countries where rape is within marriage is not considered a crime. I think its hard for women and younger people to live their actual life if they are being abused by their husband or someone ruining their lives.

Education

So many girls are out of school in the Sub Saharan Africa and South Asia and 75% of girls live in those countries. A smart strategy for girls to stay or go to school is to essentially bribe. 58 million primary school children are not in school. 20%of school age girls are not in school globally. Its super sad that most of the worlds children or teenagers are not in school and they have to fight for it or get secret tutoring and some parents want their kids to get a good education and some don’t.

Sex Trafficking

3 million women and girls are currently enslaved in the sextrade. 600,000and 800,000 people are trafficked across international borders each year. 80% of those that are trafficked are women and girls. Men mostly target young virgins more and they think that virgins can cure AIDS. Trafficking for sexual exploitation is one of the fastest growing organized crimes. They are generating about 27.8 billion each year on sex trafficking. The problem with sex slavery is that it is getting worse.

Education, gender-based violence, and sex trafficking are a big thing in the eastern countries and they make a lot of money off of it which is really messed up. Its hard to change the way the world is but i wish we all could change the way that women are treated in some of the middle east countries. It is very sad to see what women and girls have to go through just to live their lives and yet they are still very strong and very beautiful.
